Q: What is the burst pressure of a Perma-Cal® gauge?
A: 500% of full scale pressure or 25,000 psi, which ever is
lower.
Q: What is dampening (in the dial trim choices)?
A: Perma-Cal® dampens pointer flutter by a unique
technique. Dampening is recommended on all gauges except
those used where ambient temperatures will fall below
-5°F (-20C). Our method of dampening, and the direct
drive technology, eliminate the need for liquid
fill.
Q: What is a direct drive gauge?
A: Direct drive refers to the bourdon tube (elastic
element) being attached directly to the pointer, with no
amplification method (gears, etc.) present. The
Perma-Cal® triple layer helical-wound bourdon tube
directly attaches to the pointer shaft, and due to its
configuration, traverses the full arc of the scale. This
provides a very linear reading gauge that maintains its
accuracy because no gears or linkages, which tend to wear
and fail, are used.
Q: Can Perma-Cal® provide 0-100 inches of water column?
A: 100 inches of water is equal to approximately 3.61 psi.
The limits of the direct drive technology prevent
us from providing a 270° arc on any pressure lower than
30 psi or its equivalent. The 0-15 psi gauge we offer has
a 135° dial arc. Our Digital Gauges
and Transducers are capable of
accurately reading full scale pressures in this range
Q: How much overpressure can a Perma-Cal® gauge
withstand and remain in calibration?
A: Perma-Cal® gauges can withstand 150% of the full
scale pressure (50% overpressure) or 125% of the full
scale pressure on ranges of 6000 psi and higher, with
no effect on calibration.
Q: How do I return a product for repair?
A: Download the form from the following link ->>
RMA Form , fill it out
completely, place the RMA form in the container with the
product, properly protected to prevent damage, and ship
(freight prepaid) to the factory. Within a week of receipt,
the product will be evaluated and a customer service
representative will contact you. You will be advised of
the result of the evaluation and other relevant details.
Q: Can I get a dial with my logo on it?
A: Yes. Custom dials are available. We can provide a dial to
your specifications with multi-color options available for
logos, special lettering, or colored bands to indentify
areas of use or danger.

Q: What is the price and delivery of a particular part
number?
A: Please contact your local
distributor or the factory
directly. Your distributor may have the gauge you
want in stock. Orders from the factory, on average, run
2-4 weeks, depending upon the part number and quantity.
Expedited delivery of factory orders may be available
for a nominal fee.
Q: What are the wetted materials?
A: The standard wetted materials (materials exposed to the
process fluid) are stainless steel, Inconel and silver
braze. Nickel braze may be substituted by adding a '-N'
to the end of the part number.
